A calf is born

Wow! In the Miracle of Birth tent inside Gate 2, there have been two tremendous calves born. 10:30 am on Tuesday, Lucy the cow delivered Altamont, a girl calf. We got a great video that you still can see. Then Wednesday, Sparkle the cow waited until 9 pm to deliver (with the help of Farmer Mike and Dr. Stu) a bouncing baby bull, Monte. Mothers and calves are doing fine.
It was AWESOME. You have got to check this out. Another calf will be born (fingers crossed) on Thursday.

The sheep show was split between meat sheep and wooly sheep.

Those pulling draft horses were so BIG and STRONG!

So on to Thursday, Jordan Pruitt is performing in the evening.

There will be baby chicks hatching in the Agriculture Building.

There will be dairy cattle showing morning and evening.

The photography in the Flower Building is incredible, well displayed and plentiful.
Also check out the smiling tomato....too late tonight to show you a picture but WOW

The Farmhouse museum will have a display on the birth of modern medicine.

and so much more.....See you at the Altamont Fair.

I waited most of the day on Thursday to see the delivery and I had to leave, so I missed it :( . I see in the Times Union Snowball delivered on Thursday. Does anyone know what time? We were all guessing and I wondered who was the closest to the delivery time.

Thanks,
Just Curious

This was the best part of the fair for us. What a great idea!
